Music

Your musical needs will be handled by a live band or DJ. Remember that a band leader or DJ is usually the M.C.(Master of Ceremonies) for your wedding. Know who will be in that role, since  the M.C. will control the activities for your party. Be aware of guests who are placed next to the band or DJ, since some of your older guests may not appreciate the loud music. Know your special songs in advance so you can decide if the band has the vocalist or musician to perform them. Start looking early if you have special needs such as ethnic music and vocalists. These  tend to go faster because there is less to go around.

                                                           Bands

A good live band will usually do more than perform the music. They will monitor the guests for the appropriate music at the appropriate time, and will also adjust their performance depending on the crowd reaction. A good live band will use their ability to tune in to the pulse of  the crowd in order to get the most enjoyment for your guests.

One disadvantage of live bands, is that the band members that you see may or may not  be the members at your wedding. Band members do change often in some bands. Ask for the history of the bands members.

                                                           DJ's

DJ's will have recorded music at your request. This allows you to choose the music  performed by the artists you would like to hear. DJ's usually costs half the price of a live band and are a good economical way for providing wedding entertainment.

Look into locations in your area for band showcases, where you can hear several bands at a time. Sometimes these are sponsored by local catering halls. In the near future, we will begin to list such showcases on this site.
